Messi Hits 300th Goal as Barcelona Wins at Camp Nou

Date Posted: September 20, 2017

Lionel Messi achieved his 300th goal as Barcelona dominated Eibar at Camp Nou. Barcelona ended the match with a score of 6-1 against Eibar.

Barcelona’s performance shows why it is the favored team to win in Primera La Liga this season. The only team close to its odds is Real Madrid.

Camp Nou match

Eibar did not look the least bit shaken as they played against Barcelona. The team somehow pressured Barcelona during the first part of the match. Sergi Enrich was finding plenty of opportunities to score a goal during this time.

The tables turned when Messi turned a penalty into a goal shot. This opened the door for more goals to Barcelona. Paulinho answered the call by meeting Denis Suarez’s corner kick to get Barcelona at 2-0. Denis Suarez slipped a goal pass Dmitrovic who blocked Messi’s shot.

With a three-point lead, Barcelona’s defense took a nap. David Junca’s pinpoint cross scored a 3-1 for Eibar thanks to Sergi Enrich. Messi answered back with an amazing hat trick of three goals during the second half of the game.

Eibar was not shy with its offenses. The teams’ defenses though left plenty of holes for Barcelona to make the most out of.

La Liga odds

Bitcoin sportsbook platforms are leaning toward two teams to win this year’s Spain Primera La Liga. Bet365 set their odds for Barcelona at 1.83 and Real Madrid at 2.00. William Hill is slightly generous on Real Madrid with odds of 2.10 for the team and 1.80 for Barcelona. The only team close to the two is Atletico Madrid with 26.00 in Bet365 and William Hill.

There are two possible factors why bookies favor these two teams: Lionel Messi for Barcelona and Cristiano Ronaldo for Real Madrid.

As seen in the Camp Nou match, Lionel Messi is never one to take lightly. Apart from his 300th goal, Messi has a long list of achievements.  He has the most goals within a calendar year in 2012 where he scored 91 goals. Messi is one of the few players to score five goals at the Club World Cup. The Argentinian player has five FIFA Ballon d’Or awards. This gives him the achievement of having the most Ballon awards.

Cristiano Ronaldo, on the other hand, is just as dangerous as Messi in terms of performance. While Messi is about quantity, Ronaldo is about consistency. Ronaldo is the only player to score 60 or more goals four times in a calendar year which was from 2011 to 2014. He also scored more than 50 goals in six consecutive seasons. In terms of Ballon d’Or awards, Ronaldo has four which is close to Messi’s record.

Barcelona will be up against Girona on Sept. 23, Saturday. Real Madrid will also be playing against CD Alaves on the same day.  Betting markets for both Saturday match are available in most Bitcoin sportsbooks.
