New York to Host ICE Sports Betting USA in November 2018

June 25, 2018

Clarion Gaming will launch ICE Sports Betting USA on November 27 and 28, 2018 in New York City, NY.

The event is the second sportsbook conference that Clarion Gaming will bring to the US. US operators, regulators, media persons, and representatives of sports leagues, such as the NBA, are invited to attend the two-day conference for networking opportunities with key figures in the industry.

Sportsbook Opportunities in the US

The decision to launch an ICE-branded conference came from the action of the US Supreme Court (SCOTUS) to repeal the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA). PASPA stopped US states from legalizing sports wagering within its territories since former president George H.W. Bush signed it to law in 1992. But through the efforts of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie who has been working to change the law for many years, SCOTUS declared that PASPA was unconstitutional last month.

Following the repealing of PASPA, several US states rushed to create a bill to legalize sports betting before the start of the NFL season. As of this time, Nevada, New Jersey, and Delaware are the only states with a legalized sportsbook market within their jurisdiction. Meanwhile, other US states, such as Rhode Island, will soon launch theirs within this year.

Clarion Gaming acknowledges there are now many opportunities in the US for foreign gaming operators and businesses. This is why the company sets to bring the attention of the international sports betting industry to the US market through the ICE conference.

Kate Chambers, managing director of Clarion Gaming, said:

“There’s no doubt that the Supreme Court ruling has fundamentally changed the gaming landscape in the United States. ICE is the only brand that’s recognised and trusted by the gaming industry in its entirety, serving as a rallying point for regulators, sports associations, land based casino operators, online gaming brands and technology providers. The Clarion Gaming portfolio has a long history of serving the US industry courtesy of GiGse, Juegos Miami and the first Sports Betting USA which we held in November 2017. The ICE brand is recognised as the hallmark of quality in gaming and the launch of ICE Sports Betting USA is confirmation of our commitment to meeting the needs of the industry for a progressive and professional business event post PASPA.”

An Expanded Version of Sports Betting USA 2017

Clarion Gaming held the two-day Sports Betting USA conference last November, covering important and interesting topics that concerned the country’s sportsbook market. There were discussions on creating a sustainable regulation and taxation environment, taking down illegal sports wagers, and allowing proper revenue streams to state budgets.

ICE Sports Betting USA will expand on the Sports Betting USA 2017 conference by allowing representatives of Native American tribes, mainstream media, sports leagues, operators, and regulating bodies to form a strong network during the event. The event will also hold discussions on the future of sports betting in the US and opportunities it presents to local and foreign establishments.
