Resorts Casino Hotel Now Offers On-Property and Mobile Sportsbook
Date Posted: August 17, 2018
Resorts Casino Hotel, the oldest casino in Atlantic City, started offering sports betting to its patrons just last August 15 in celebration of its 40th anniversary. Resorts may not be the first to launch a land-based sportsbook in Atlantic City, but it is the first to offer both an on-property and a mobile sportsbook in the city and in New Jersey.
The Resorts Casino sportsbook section is located near Bar One on the casino floor. It has a seating area where players can watch sports on a 12-foot video wall or on any of the 15 other screens. The room also has six betting windows and four self-serve kiosks.
Opening a sportsbook within the hotel is Resorts’ move to provide a better betting experience to guests. According to Mark Giannantonio, President and CEO of Resorts Casino Hotel:
“As the birthplace of casino gaming in New Jersey, Resorts Casino Hotel is thrilled our state has authorized legal sports betting as this marks a great advancement for the gaming industry. The opening of our new sportsbook will set a precedent for sports betting in Atlantic City, offering an elevated gaming experience for our loyal guests. We are proud to introduce the accessibility of an on-property sports book, further strengthening Resorts as the place to experience New Jersey’s best-in-class gaming.”
The Atlantic City casino reveals that it added some widely known companies to its list of affiliates. Last June, it announced a partnership deal with the sports contest provider DraftKings. Following this, Resorts, with the help of tech partner DraftKings, became the first to start a mobile sportsbook app in New Jersey.
SBTech, an eGaming software development giant, is also now working with the casino hotel. SBTech will be providing sports betting solutions for Resorts Casino’s online sportsbook slated to be launched later this year.
Launching a retail and a mobile sportsbook is in great favor of Resorts Casino as the football season is coming. The casino expects more players to place their wagers on the first regular game of the season which will be on September 6.
