The 11th Blizzcon is just a week away on November 3 in Anaheim, California. There are five Blizzcon 2017 expectations that fans are looking forward to next week.
One of these expectations includes five of the top Esports event. Another is announcements for new content to Blizzard’s games as well as the possibility of a new IP.
Blizzcon is essentially the Wrestlemania, Superbowl, and FIFA for the best Blizzard Esports event across the globe. This is where five events end for a new beginning.
The Esports events that are taking place on November 3 includes World of Warcraft Arena World Championship, HGC Finals, Overwatch World Cup, Hearthstone Invitationals, Starcraft II World Championship Series Global Finals. Teams from around the world will be competing for an amazing prize pool in each of the five events.
One of the things that esports fans are looking forward to is Blizzcon reveals for new digital content to their games. This could be a new Overwatch character like Sombra who was revealed last year. The Mean Streets of Gadgetzan expansion was also revealed in Blizzcon 2016. Hearthstone players might get another adventure pack before this year ends. New content opens new possibilities for any Esport players.
Blizzcon has also been the place for Blizzard to announce a new IP or sequel. Viewers and attendants might be treated to the same exciting reveal as what Blizzcon 2014 attendants got when Overwatch was announced. What makes this expectation feasible is Blizzard’s announcement of hiring 267 people to work on multiple new projects in June. A new FPS or even a sequel to World of Warcraft or Diablo could appear on November 3.
Fans that have a question about Blizzard games will get the chance to ask this from the people who make them. This could be about any upcoming patches to WOW. Some could also question them on why they nerfed Fiery War Axe to cost 3 mana to cast. Q&A panels are held on November 4.
Blizzcon’s costume contest sees an amazing number of cosplayers each year. Much like its Esports events, competition is very high in this event. Esports fans can expect the best cosplayers to bring popular Blizzard characters to life in this event. There will also be a panel where veteran cosplayers will guide everyone on how they design their costume.
Anyone who wants to know how Blizzard makes their cinema style cutscenes or the art and sounds that goes through their games can find out with the documentary videos at Blizzcon. Blizzard will release a series of videos that will give fans a backstage look at what goes into their favorite Esports games.
