Vettel Still Second Favored to Win USA Grand Prix 2017
Date Posted: October 12, 2017
Bad luck continued to haunt Sebastian Vettel in the Japanese Grand Prix where an engine failure forced him to retire. But Bitcoin sportsbook sites continued to be optimistic of Vettel’s chances of winning in the upcoming USA Grand Prix 2017.
On the other hand, the Red Bull team exceled in Suzuka with Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo getting the podium wins with Hamilton. However, Valtteri Bottas and Kimi Raikkonen still received better odds than the Red Bull Racing drivers for the next Grand Prix.
Vettel still gets good odds for USA Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton remains the top favored racer to win the track in the US. Bet365 and BetOnline.ag have him at 1.83. Also, the gap between Hamilton and Vettel widened for the next race where both sportsbooks give the German racer 3.25 odds to win.
Despite the unfortunate exit from the Suzuka track, Vettel still gets the second top spot for the USA Grand Prix. A faulty spark plug in Vettel’s car caused a power problem which forced him to retire early. This is the third time that the German racer had faced disastrous incidents that took him out of the race.
Bookmakers are likely to be leaning toward Vettel’s previous record in the USA Grand Prix. Hamilton won four of the GP titles in 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2016. Vettel won the title in 2013 and reached the podium in 2012 and 2015.
The consistent disaster that Vettel faced in the three previous Grand Prix erodes his drivers standing. The gap between Hamilton and Vettel’s odds for the Drivers’ Championship 2017 title has significantly widened. Bet365 puts Hamilton at 1.010 and Vettel at 26.00 to win the Championship title. William Hill and BetOnline.ag is slightly optimistic with its odds for Hamilton at 1.02 and Vettel at 15.00.
Bottas and Raikkonen US Grand Prix odds
Red Bull Racing’ luck continued to shine from previous Grand Prix races. It was not enough for Verstappen to overtake the dominant Hamilton. Verstappen could not find a good opportunity to get past Hamilton despite being close to him most of the time.
Even with Verstappen and Ricciardo’s podium finish, Bottas of Mercedes and Raikkonen of Ferrari are the next two most favored racers to win the USA Grand Prix. Bottas gets 7.00 while Raikkonen gets 13.00 at Bet365 and BetOnline.ag. Both sportsbooks give Verstappen 15.00 and Ricciardo 17.00 to win.
The reason for these odds is Bottas and Raikkonen’s consistent performance in the previous Grand Prix this season. Bottas has two Grand Prix titles with 10 podium wins while Ricciardo has one title and nine podiums. In comparison to team Red Bull, Verstappen has one title and three podiums while Raikkonen has only four podiums.
There is still a good chance that Verstappen and Raikkonen might surpass everyone’s expectation in Austin. With the Red Bull Racing partnership with Aston Martin next year, things may continue to look brighter for the team.
